An innovative idea

When Kenny Zhen, founder and creator of Magic Ice, immigrated to Canada he was fascinated by the holiday decorations. But as he prepared to decorate his own home, he quickly noticed the products were all quite similar. He knew there was room for variety and ingenuity in outdoor Christmas decor, so he set out to create an entirely new product.

Making Magic (Ice)

It took over five years, dozens of prototypes and countless hours to design and develop this unique, fun, elegant—and Canadian!—product.

Kenny and his business partner, Gary Ash, appeared on the 12th season of Dragon's Den. Though they received three offers, they ultimately kept full ownership of the company and gained fantastic exposure for their prairies-based company. Check out the episode here.
